Rigger / Slinger

Key Responsibilities

Perform rigging and slinging activities for loading, unloading and movement of materials.
Select and inspect appropriate lifting accessories such as slings, shackles, hooks and spreader beams.
Safely connect and disconnect loads from cranes and other lifting equipment.
Provide clear signals and communication to Crane Operators during lifting operations.
Assist with receiving, handling, stacking and delivery of materials within warehouse and laydown areas.
Ensure loads are correctly secured, balanced and controlled during lifting.
Perform pre-use inspections of rigging equipment and immediately report damaged or defective equipment.
Follow approved lifting plans, procedures and instructions from the Lifting Supervisor.
Maintain good housekeeping in the working area.
Comply with all Project HSE requirements and site procedures.

Requirements

Valid Rigger/Slinger certification recognized/accepted by the Project.
Previous experience in construction, Oil & Gas, LNG or industrial projects preferred.
Experience handling structural steel, pipes, equipment, containers and general construction materials.
Good knowledge of safe lifting practices and hand/radio signals.
Physically fit and capable of working day and night shifts.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multicultural team.
