GAIN (Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition)
GAIN is seeking to recruit a Project Coordinator, Cabo Delgado Food Systems Strengthening Programmes (CDFSS) to ensure day-to-day coordination, monitoring and operational management of programme activities across the target provinces.
This role will be offered on permanent contract, subject to availability of funding and will be based in Pemba, Cabo Delgado. This advert closes on 2nd September 2026. Key Responsibilities include.
- Coordinate day-to-day implementation of CDFSS activities across Cabo Delgado, Nampula and Zambézia, translating the work plan into semester and field-level plans.
- Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for implementing partners and coordinate with Government authorities, municipalities, cooperatives and community structures.
- Maintain an up-to-date activity tracker and promptly alert the Project Manager to delays, risks or decisions requiring attention.
- Coordinate field missions for monitoring, partner support and verification of programme outputs, and prepare field visit reports with agreed actions.
- Contribute to semester, annual and donor reports by compiling results, challenges and lessons learnt and providing evidence-based recommendations.
About you
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in programme coordination, project management or field implementation within the development sector. They will bring demonstrated experience coordinating activities across multiple locations, supervising or guiding programme staff, and working effectively with implementing partners, government institutions, NGOs, private-sector actors, cooperatives and community structures. Experience in food systems, food security, agriculture, market systems or nutrition is highly desirable, while previous work in northern Mozambique or a comparable fragile or conflict-affected context would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will be a highly organised and solutions-focused professional, able to manage multiple workstreams, partners, locations and deadlines while maintaining close attention to quality, budgets, compliance and donor requirements. They will have strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to provide clear direction to team members, monitor performance, identify implementation risks and propose practical solutions. Good knowledge of programme monitoring, procurement, budgeting and financial documentation in a donor-funded environment is essential, together with proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to analyse and present programme information clearly. Full professional proficiency in Portuguese and English, as well as willingness to travel regularly across Cabo Delgado, Nampula and Zambézia, is required.
About our offer
The starting gross salary on offer for this role is from USD 31,284 – USD 35772 gross per annum, depending on experience.
