Action Against Hunger is a humanitarian organization recognized as serving the public interest and founded in 1979. Operating in more than 50 countries, the organization works across the sectors of nutrition, health, food security and livelihoods, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), and mental health and care practices. As part of our programs, we are currently seeking: Qualitative Research Supervisor.

Geraneral Objective

This person will participate in a Nutrition Determinants Analysis Research in Mueda district providing support to the Research Leader including the development and finalization of the qualitative data collection tools, conduction of interviews and focal group discussions, documentation and systematization of collected data and engagement with the communities selected.

This person will follow strictly the guidance of the Research Lead during all activities and communicate immediately any issue affecting the data collection and/or relationship with the selected community.

With the support of his/her Research Lead, s/he must quality technical inputs to the research addressing data collection and communities selected in an ethical manner complying with qualitative research and ACF principles.

Specific Objectives (Not limited to the following)

Mission 1: Participate in the development and finalization of qualitative data collection tools

Mission 2: Conduct qualitative data collection under the guidance of the Research Leader formal and informal interviews, focus group discussions and participatory exercises, as directed by the NDA Analyst

Mission 3: Organization of interviews and group discussions in the sampled communities

Mission 4: Take detailed and relevant notes during all community exchanges

Mission 5: Active participation in daily debriefings and initial data analysis

Please note that this list of responsibilities is not exhaustive. Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned based on operational needs and activities, following approval by the relevant supervisors.
